A very pleasant stay

I had a very pleasant stay 2 weeks ago. I am not familiar with Philadelphia at all, and my only previous experience was the DoubleTree City Centre almost a decade ago, so I was not sure how convenient the hotel is location-wise. It was an overnight stay, and I needed a good base to explore the city or at least the historic part.

I arrived at the hotel just after 11am, and the room was not ready. I was not pre-upgraded, and when I asked about a possibility of an upgrade, and the agent first tried to upsell me one of their "specialty" suites for gazillions of Dollars, which I refused. I was about to say that I'd just wait for my room (since I was planning on having lunch at the hotel's restaurant anyway), when the agent went to the back and then reappeared a few minutes later telling me that they had a 1-bedroom suite for me which was available right away. I was very happy and grateful (more about the room being ready as I did not need a suite).

The room was nothing special in terms of design, but it was very spacious, clean and comfortable. The bathroom was huge. The bed was very comfortable, but I generally like Hilton beds. I can say that it was one of the better Hilton hotels I stayed at in the USA.

I had dinner at the hotel's restaurant Urban Farmer and enjoyed it very much. To my surprise, it was not a typical hotel restaurant that one would usually find in a U.S. Hilton. I'd come here even without staying at the hotel. I had a shrimp cocktail and a crab cake for the main, and enjoyed both.

I had salmon Eggs Benedict for breakfast, and that was delicious. The credit (I booked for 2 guests in the room) covered the price of the dish.

I had a very nice stay. I appreciated that the front desk agent found an upgrade for me. Location was perfect for me, as I arrived by train and left by train (I walked from and to the train station). I took a trolley to the Liberty Bell and then explored the city and walked back to the hotel.
