i have stayed with a lot at Sofitel and Mgallery in Europe and the only one i don’t like is Sofitel Quiberon Thalassa because it is dated and purely destined to a public of unpleasant senior guests
otherwise most properties are great, i cannot say the same for brands like Mercure or Novotel but saying Sofitel Mgallery and Raffles in Europe are disappointing is untrue.
At least as far as Raffles goes, and a couple of Fairmonts in Western Europe, I've never found the hotels themselves disappointing. However, what is disappointing (exceedingly so) with those options, is that most now seem to not accept SNUs. Since OP is trying to use up SNUs, that could be a problem. In the past, I've had excellent stays at the Raffles in Paris and the Fairmont in Montreux, and had really nice SNU upgrades at them, and they have since quietly just stopped accepting them.
