On a normal day, sure. But if you've gotten up at 2 or 3am to make a flight, and had breakfast, you don't want to eat breakfast again 6+ hours later.
All depends on how one travels. My typical MO for an early flight is to get up and head straight to the airport without breakfast. If I have a 6:00 AM ~2 hour regional flight without breakfast that goes two time zones east, it's 8:30 stomach time (10:30 local time) by the time I get into the AC, which is not the time for soup.
