I have a credit card which will provide primary CDW for a rental, meaning I likely would not have to get my own insurance involved in a claim for damaging the rented vehicle. I got to wondering if there is a product out there to provide primary liability coverage (property damage and bodily injury) that kicks in before my own insurance would.

I know there are supplemental liability protections (for example, National’s SLP) but as best as I can tell, that is secondary and only pays above and beyond my own insurance limits. Are there products out there which provide primary liability coverage that pay out before your own insurance? If so, where does one find them?
