At least in my world - the point of cloud is you only need to manage one vendor and one process. But at the end of the day, the cloud is just someone elses machine and you put your trust in them to do it better than you could.

and it's not exactly surprising that these single-vendor / single-process "supersystems" are increasingly vulnerable to single-point failures that rapidly cascade
