My flight -

Pilot from the inbound flight started chatting with the pilot. Our pilot asked how their ride was and the pilot coming off the flight said 'smooth'.)
2. Pilot announced turbulence likely so no service until I am sure it is clear.
3. No turbulence. Smooth ride. No service and FAs used the oven to cook/heat their meals.
After my flight -
1. Searched on reddit and found a thread where people were complaining about no service on flights.
2. A few on their said they were FAs and do limit service later in the day. Just get tired.
100% the reddit thread could be made up. Seemed real, but take it for what it is worth. At times, I have definitely felt what seems like lower service on later in the day short flights, but that is just a feeling.
As for reporting it, not really my style to complain to corporate about not getting a drink/service. I would assume the crew would say turbulence was in the area and "out of an abundance of caution for passenger's safety" we _______ (any excuse).
Fake turbulence is a safety issue when real turbulence occurs. Report to the FAA.
Imagine a road where there is a stop sign every 5 ft. When are you actually going to stop?
Please do recall several years ago when an idiotic AA pilot left the seatbelt sign on for the entire duration of a LHR-ORD. Directed all customers to stay seated. Some disobeyed, and thanks (!!!) graciously reported the PIC to the FAA and American Airlines, resulting in his suspension.
Very uncommon with other airlines, where the cockpit will allow cabin crew to be able to fulfill their duties as quickly as possible after takeoff. And the crew are so grateful to do it!
