Hi everybody

In case you are interested in the outcome of this situation!

We flew the first leg of the outbound itinerary (LHR-JFK) successfully and got 749 nTP; flew the one-way "return" ticket (JFK-LHR) successfully and got 1905 nTPs. So 2564 in total, about half of the nTPs that we "should" have got for the money spent. However, we did save £3k per ticket. My partner and I had a minor disagreement about whether this was worth it!

No issues either at immigration or with the airlines. I did eventually get some checkin reminders from AA about the MIA-LIM leg, which I ignored.

So it worked out in the end but (as predicted by most of you) for far fewer tier points than we had hoped for. Probably next time we'll just pay the money and not bother...

( And for those curious, the travel agency was checknfly )
