It is, I speak from personal experience of flights crediting!

QR fares ex-EU will still remain very attractive, as they were with BA under their old earning structure. It's an interesting move with more former BA Gold members likely to be thinking about alternatives when they realise they're not going to hit the spend targets, and making the new Enrich a hybrid between the BA Exec Club as-was and old Enrich seems targeted, particularly when Malaysians can reduce the qualification by 30% simply by obtaining a credit card. It could be a very clever move to build membership.

For European residents, QR fares are extremely competitive out of Scandanavia. I think a LHR-DOH-KUL return is even better than you project at 44 points in J, but the cheaper fares from OSL and ARN, for example, mean the first and last flights still fall into Zone 5 for 10 points.
