I also like the honesty MH has employed. When BA relaunched they set out an exceptionally unlikely set of circumstances in which an existing BA Gold member could retain their status under the spend model. It didn't encourage anyone to even attempt it, so outrageous was it, and people instantly lost trust in the airline.
MH hasn't done that - the illustration shows that a Platinum member will fall short, but not by such a margin that re-qualification wouldn't be possible. There's a clear encouragement to them to convert some of their Y travel to J to get over the line, or fly more with oneworld, or take a credit card if a Malaysian citizen/resident.
