Having looked at a few video reviews, these transit passengers usually get the “International Baggage Claim” sticker to identify themselves at destination airport. Do I need to get one somewhere to go through to international carousel for baggage collection and customs?
Yes, you should get the CIQ sticker to identify yourself as international connect. It has been over a decade since I have done a Int'l to Domestic connect sadly, so cannot help with the specifics (i.e. if you go through transit immigration, I would guess that is where you get it - which in your case, you would not do). I would however think, that holding onto the original international boarding pass should be enough, and that they are not strict on it (I mean, you could have lost the sticker). I would not worry about it, to be honest.
