The certificate was good for one weekend night and thus, was supposed to be used for Friday. I called the Diamond Desk and the agent explained that the rate for the 2 nights was added together and then`divided by 2. Hilton then took 1/2 of that number and allocated it between the 2 nights. So, according to them, I got one night "free" even though I am being charged for 2 nights. I have never seen this done this way before and it doesn't really make sense to me. Also, per the number the agent gave me for a total, I am paying more than half, not including taxes.
I asked for a supervisor to get a better explanation, but I was told that the only way to reach a supervisor is through the email address.
Has anybody else seen this?
This is nonsense, you should have had 1 fully free night, then 1 paid night. Taxes would apply on the paid night
Only thing I can think of is if there was something going on where you booked this in a weird way such as made a cash booking first and then called up to have a cert applied to one of the nights. Even then I would not expect this outcome
