Immigration would anyway be in BKK, only difference is arrivals or domestic transit immigration (which would also allow you to leave afterwards). On arrival to your destination, you would have to head to the carousel for International instead of Domestic arrivals (different hall) to retrieve your luggage.

Thank you very much. So I suppose I will just go straight to Arrivals for immigration clearance first, then later in the day (or on the next day FWIW) board the ongoing domestic flight and clear customs at destination.

Having looked at a few video reviews, these transit passengers usually get the “International Baggage Claim” sticker to identify themselves at destination airport. Do I need to get one somewhere to go through to international carousel for baggage collection and customs?
