Admittedly I don't have a ton of Sixt experience; the rentals I have had with them were fine.
What I have seen, and what gives me pause, are the number of complaints about after-the-fact damage and cleaning charges that find their way to the renter weeks after the fact. Way more than Avis/Hertz/EAN. If you get CDW/LDW/whatever they call it, they seem to be fine, but I would otherwise avoid. Your comment did make me take a second look, and my employer does have a leisure rate that includes a damage waiver. I might give them a try sometime.
