Surely that honour belongs to the Hex rather than the Gatex.

LGW isn't in London but the rail links, when they are working, are good. A fast Thameslink can get into London Bridge in just 29 minutes and is normally my first choice over a Southern or Gatex service. Hex from T5 to Paddington is 21 minutes, just 8 minutes faster and a lot more expensive. And the Lizzy Line from T5 is normally 29 minutes, the same time it takes to get from LGW to London Bridge.

If most of the pax on the NQY service are OD leisure and business travellers, I don't think it makes a huge difference whether its LGW or LHR. Of course Heathrow provides far more international connections, but I'm guessing that when BA did run the summer seasonal service not enough pax went on to connecting services to justify running this service commercially.
