Overall acceptable for a quick rest if traveling for work, comfortable bed and large 65" TV which you don't get even in new 5*. Diamond upgrade was from base room to room with bathtub (corner room) but there are higher category being "Lake View" rooms.
What I didn't like was AC being completely off when first entering the room, making it very stuffy even when arriving at night, took about 2 hours to cool to 25c. No AC in the common areas including Lobby either. Receptionist said it's a management decision.
I was also handed a USED keycard holder. Didn't think much about it but it was definitely used/creased and when I later had to have a room change due to moldy sheets (no fun when all you want is to do is get to bed quickly) , the same receptionist erased the old room number and penciled in my new room (22nd floor to 17th floor).
Tried calling from room at first but phone wasn't working. Was told there were "servicing" it and it should be working in a few days.
In both rooms housekeeping isn't of Hilton standard , but hey the rate is RM180 and I've had worse for the same price. Rooms aren't sound proof so I could clearly hear my neighbor's ringtone / alarm go off.
Breakfast was alright, again bearing in mind it was included as a free perk. Saw a few tour buses when checking out so not sure if the tour groups would have their breakfast elsewhere ?
Overall, ok-ish value but feels like the property is just about hanging on or doing the bare minimum to keep it as a HGI.

As for the AC in general, seems that they have fixed the issue with it - as even early this year, it was impossible to control the temperature, but during my last stay in August (and even maybe earlier) - I noticed that the room temperature goes to the settings. I did not find any issues anytime with the room cooling down in the different occasions I've stayed - as I normally would either switch it off before I leave the room or set it to a higher temperature setting since I do not want have such a big temperature difference to outside.
As for the cards - this has been the practice for years - Most of the times, I tell them I don't need it (as normally I just leave the sleeve in the room after checking in. I'm also ok with this practice - as I know I'm not in some 5* property that needs everything to be pristine - in fact I do support these small things (may seem like cost cutting, but at least it does not reduce the comfort of my stay).
Again - most probably just personal preferences on what's important and what's not.
Interesting note on the tour buses - I have actually never seen any tour groups staying at the property during all my visits (or what looks like tour groups). I see mainly local clientele and the occasional foreigner. I believe they do have now some airline crew staying too (I believe I remembered seeing one of them during my last stay).
Yes - prices have gone up - but on the other hand, what has not gone up in price - for me as long as I find value in it I'll just continue to stay at this property as it is just indeed for me to get a good sleep, clean and easy access to places I need to be at.
Cheers!
We had pretty serious issues with housekeepingn during one of our stays and I brought it up with the GM. So, the stay after that we had no issues

I pointed out a few things and let him know what the hotel can improve on when he was having breakfast with us

.
However, he was assigned to open a new Hilton in Timor-Leste and I haven't stayed since the change of GM (he left April 2024).
I think it's ok that they turn down the air-con in the lobby. But when they left it off for a while in a room it's not too good. It makes the whole room smells damp and it's not good.
If I can get it at around RM 180, I think it's a good value. However, I see prices starting at 220 for the days that I need which is 60 more than the twin HGIs inside KL. If I don't rent a car the HGI in Puchong can be a real PITA to get around unless I use Grab.
Last time I booked the Courtyard KL South I paid 250 all in and they upgraded us to a one bedroom suite (long term stay rate - and you can get that by buying a membership from Club Marriott and use the free nights at the more expensive hotels). The room was amazing with a sink and a microwave, which is great to heat up some cheap domino pizza for the kids. That's why I am not willing to stay there when the price is over 200 all in.
