Considering that being forced to check your hand baggage in the hold is considered "bad" and that being allowed to take it in the cabin is considered "good", this is a funny comment.

The whole point of status passengers being permitted to bring it on board for free is so they can waltz off the plane with their bag and head off into their private limousine transfer without having to wait 10, 20, 30 minutes or more at baggage claim. There is no option, because having to check the bag is the "penalty" for having the cheapest Saver fare, and thus you are "forced" to wait at baggage claim on arrival.

I think you trying to get out of paying a hold bag fee by attempting to work the system is pretty amusing Not that I can talk as I'll take any loophole available - if I could get out of paying for seats, I'd be doing cartwheels - but your comment still amuses me no end that you can spin the free cabin bag given to status members as a negative
