This is not a surprise at all! Many people knew Southwest needed to change and the leadership is correct. Southwest is doing what profitable airlines like United and Delta do now. It is funny to think how many people thought Southwest would perform worse. We will see Southwest perform much better now financially. The intra CA flights I have been on lately with WN are packed!
