I recently booked them BWI-SNA RT for Thanksgiving after getting a WGA (I mean, Basic) fare for $426. I have the Plus CC so that's a free checked bag. They were around $300 cheaper than DL at the time of booking, although I did see a Basic Economy fare on DL for $526 afterwards but I have no status and only the DL Blue Amex.

Flew SNA-BWI a week ago on an award ticket. First time flying WN since free bags went away. It was fine, nothing to complain about. First leg was completely full, second leg was ~85% full. Let's see what the Thanksgiving travel season brings.
Anecdotes about full flights don't reveal anything. Southwest was clearly trying to juice numbers by running a sale every week.
