I looked at the Ink Unlimited 90k terms today and saw something discouraging:
Chase is killing churning for UR. I can't blame them.
I am going to consider myself a free agent now, no longer constrained to 5/24 by Chase. I have enough UR points for quite a while, and I am shifting to cards which earn AA and AS miles.
Edit: With Southwest's recent devolution, I'm now a free agent for domestic air travel as well. Frontier made a successful play to win Southwest customers, and I fly them when their schedule fits. I've also flown AA, AS, and UA this year. I flew 50+ trips on Southwest this year, but my top status will be worth barely more than a credit card in 2026.
Oof. I'm glad I re-read your post. It's the only DP I've read so far that states this, but I wouldn't be surprised.
The plot thickens for my latest Ink app. I got a secure letter today and I immediately thought it was a denial, but it was asking me to verify my identity, which I did over the phone by hitting a button on the keypad and they said my application is under review. Fingers crossed, but if it doesn't go through, I really will be done with Chase, because I don't want to waste any more hard pulls on this nonsense (wasted 3-4 already this year).
If Amex continues leaving me in PUJ, I'll have to go all-in on BofA. Nothing necessarily wrong with that, but travel will get much more expensive for us
