Are there any data points if the booking needs to be on the cardmembers account? For example if I use my wife's Chase British Airways card to pay for the taxes of a transatlantic reward booking that I am taking that is booked with my BA points, will it still trigger the credit? Or does the reward flight really need to be booked through the Avios account of the cardholder?

Thanks in advance for any data points and I apologize if this was covered in this thread, I looked but did not see it. If no one knows, I try it and see what happens...
The award needs to be booked from the BA account that is linked to the Chase BA credit card. So if booked from your BA account but using your wife’s BA card which will be linked to her account that will not trigger the credit. If using her credit card you would need to book it from her BA account to get the credit. If she does not have enough Avios but you do, then create a household account and that will effectively combine your points and then book from her account.
