San Diego - Heathrow. WTP to J. Updated in the app just before OLCI opened up.

Connecting flight into SAN was delayed meaning I fell beneath MCT. Was rerouted by AA staff via LAX although they could only book me onto 268 (A380 yingyang) with a 7 hour layover rather than an earlier flight on a 777 CS. Was told this was due to my ticket being a “points ticket” with different taxes and as such there needed to be a certain fare bucket available for booking on my transatlantic leg. Didn’t test this too hard as was just glad they were honouring the opup on another flight (is that normal?)

Landed at LAX and immediately went to the BA desk. Managed to secure the last club suite on 280, after initially being told it was full (did they kick off a standby PAX?). Not sure if it helped by reminding them that I would be due EC261 compensation if I wasn’t put on the earlier flight.

Anyway, mentioning here as I wasn’t sure if preservation of the opup was normal.

Side note: 10/10 trip to the QF lounge. Their cocktail selection is just the ticket before an overnight back to London!
