Delboy65 should note that he could fly LHR-HKG in F (if available) for no additional Avios, since LHR-HKG is shorter than KUL-LHR.
I think NAN is likely exotic enough that they’d allow via SYD on the return - but as always no guarantees. Good callout - if I got it ticketed, I’d certainly be setting up various alerts on my preferred reward flight tool for LHR-HKG in F - I don’t think I’ve seen F available on that route in quite some time however (although I don’t trawl as much as I used to since the crackdown).
