For a different perspective, from someone who has been Elite for 12 years, I sold my house after the election, fled the US for Europe at the start of the year and took an early retirement because of the US political situation (I am someone who ticks many boxes of the groups the current government targets). As such, I will lose Elite status at the end of the month.

I used to do 4 or 5 NZ long hauls a year from the West Coast of North America in either PE or Business (along with a similar LAX-LHR annual flight back in the day). Given NZ don't fly to London any more, I will be exploring other options for what I hope to be extended annual visits to NZ and Raro.
