Reps from Chase (and any other entity) are going to quote the terms and conditions, which we can read for ourselves. Often even if something is excluded, it has been found to work in practice. That is why datapoints are posted here to try to determine what actually works and what doesn’t.

And, if you are able to take advantage of something that is supposed to be excluded working, you shouldn’t get upset if/when that loophole is eventually closed (or even if the credit/points/etc are clawed back). That’s the game.
