Question though - do you think you still would've called it the 'best St. Regis in Asia' if you did not manage to score a specialty suite?
If you were put into a regular room, with everything else being the same, would it still be the 'best'?
What is the best? Difficult question.
We had 2787 in that floor layout as a casual none NUA upgrade, and was generally impressed with the hotel. We had a Caroline Astor Suite in Singapore, and I can't remember what suite in Hong Kong. The impression of the hotel is of course affected by the room, but there are so many other things that count for a great St Regis. The champagne sabering is probably the most proper in Singapore, Macau, and Hong Kong. But it really depends on what you define as your choice of best. The Hong Kong location is not really great, but I might pick that anyway.
