Pros
  • NUA cleared 3 days before at 14:00 local time to Executive Suite. Executive Suite and Deluxe Suite are the only selectable Suites in the request.
  • Further upgraded to Yuri Suite on the top floor after I messaged them in App. They are very responsive and accommodating.
  • Room has a bathtub with view, unlike Executive/Deluxe Suite. Night view is so gorgeous that I don't have to go to Umeda Sky Building or Tsutenkaku (通天閣) anymore.
  • 3 separate Air Conditioning control: Living Room, Bedroom, Bathroom.
  • Beautiful lobby at 12/F: Gigantic windows, doors, and hallways.
  • Breakfast is ordered through a menu with plenty of selections including Japanese-style fish.
  • Ultra attentive butlers. Starting with welcoming drinks, ice bucket and opening TV cabinets for the night, sorting my books by series, etc. I am impressed.
  • Most staff remember my name after 1 meeting.
  • Housekeeping is spotless every day, and the bathroom walls and floors are always dry.
  • Spa massage is ultra cheap: 11000 JPY for 60 minutes. Closes 2:00 AM.
  • Location is convenient for everything. Distance is well balanced between Yodoyabashi (淀屋橋), Umeda (梅田), Namba (難波), and Shinsaibashi (心斎橋).
Cons
  • Nothing to complain.
Overall, this place became one of my favorite hotels and I would definitely come back again.

Thanks for the review.
Question though - do you think you still would've called it the 'best St. Regis in Asia' if you did not manage to score a specialty suite?
If you were put into a regular room, with everything else being the same, would it still be the 'best'?
