AI has B779 and A35K on order to serve the bulk of the US-India traffic. The thinner routes to the US are supposed to be served by A359 and B789.

The fleet they have now is inefficient: the B788 are too small and meant to serve Europe/East Asia. The Vistara B789 have no crew rest to fly to the US. The B777-200LR of AI vintage are too small and consume too much fuel. The B77W and A359 are the only match right now but can only serve the US east coast.

The sad part is that by the time the aircraft arrive the demand will probably shrink due to the restrictive H1B policies ... I doubt US managers visiting the GCC back office will fly AI. 🤪🫢
