Would like to credit to AY, even though earnings might be minimal, but dont want to end up back in group 5, 9 or whatever. Suppose the flights arent too long, so if i get my hand baggage on board, that's fine regardless of where i sit etc. If it gets checked in for free, shouldn't be an issue either as staying over in Dublin anyway.
Flashing my gold card will get me lounge access anyway, and no security as such at LHR for CTA to domestic?
Changed from my original AY DUB-HEL-SIN to:
DUB-LHR with BA (Y) due to time changes.
Then QF PE (W) to SIN.
Return flights are AY PE SIN-HEL (P), and I paid about £86 to upgrade into business from HEL-DUB (U). Probably not worth it, but hey.
Do have my AY Basic number and my BAC number in the BA / QF part of the booking. AY number only for the return.
Not sure why the BA number is there as it was replaced by the AY number in the system.
Hopefully things credit to AY.

BA Y from DUB to LHR net 117 tier points and 117 Avios. QF PE will be about 100% of miles flown so about 6765. It always varies slightly.
if you leave the BA number in until you check in and print off boarding passes, then you call and get BA to remove it. That works but it is a faff for sure. group 1, fast track and lounge will all be ok but yes and subsequent BPs will be for group 4/5. There is enough of this going on at the moment that staff seem more aware and inclined to help.
remember AY don’t credit upgrades at upgrade class only at original booking. This does not seem to apply to BA POUG so long as there is no manual intervention by AY customer service.
