I guess one way to think about it is that if you book these types of hotels more than 2x a year, Edit may actually be much better than Amex.

There are no 2 night minimum restrictions on Edit hotels unless you want to use the $250 credits, unlike the THC. And Chase points (2 cpp) are worth almost 3x as much compared to Amex points (0.7cpp) when booking these hotels.
