My son and I are flying Etihad for a spring break trip in March. We bought economy flights (thankfully on the front row of economy) from Atlanta to Abu Dhabi about a month ago. The one way price was $575 (which I thought was incredible). When we bought the tickets, there was the option to bid for the upgrade with the minimum bid price to upgrade to business starting at $1250 and so I bid $1350. I logged on today and now the minimum bid is $1500.

I’ve never done the whole bidding thing and would love any advice on how to best make my bid competitive without going up to $2000. Should I keep watching or cancel the bid and make it closer to the actual departure day.
