FlyingKauri Warm welcome to your first post Just note that if ticketed by AirNZ, the RTW might well include non-Star Alliance partners such as Cathay Pacific and British Airways. Those sectors will earn nothing towards Star Alliance Gold status, and so no bonus Status Points if holding the ANZ Platinum Airpoints credit card.

Family member took a PE trip to London routing: Auckland to Vancouver (AirNZ), to London (British Airways), to HongKong (Cathay Pacific), to Auckland (AirNZ).
