No annual fee, no foreign fee card: Apple Card?
I’m planning to cancel my United Explorer card before the increased annual fee hits next February. This will leave me without a card for non-shared-with-Mr-Gfunk purchases overseas (for which we use a Chase Sapphire Reserve). Well, I could use my PenFed card (5% cash back on gas!) but it’s annoying to tell them I’m traveling somewhere. I don’t buy much gas these days, anyway, so I’m considering just closing my PenFed accounts. I only really keep it because I like having a non-Chase, non-Amex card.
Ordinarily for solo purchases in the US I use the CFU to get 1.5 UR points/$ and combine with the CSR. But the Apple Card has no fees and no forex fees, and 2% cash back on Apple Pay purchases. It seems like a good option. What do people think?
