I see speculation on Reddit, MyFico forums, and DoC comments that there is a new ThankYou "Core" card listed on the ThankYou site T&C with earnings rates of:

5 TYP for Gas up to $10,000 spend a year
3 TYP for groceries and restaurants up to $10,000 spend a year
2 TYP for department stores and drugs stores up to $10,000 spend a year
1 TYP elsewhere

Thoughts being that the earnings are similar to the SYW card earnings so this is what the SYWMC will transition to. A big improvement as the $10,000 limit is now distinct for each bonus tier if it comes to fruition and bonus offers still come.
