It seems there are three Marriott Hotels in Khao Lak, southern Thailand: JW Marriott Khao Lak Resort & Spa, Le Meridien Khao Lak Resort & Spa and Khao Lak Marriott Beach Resort & Spa. I could not find a thread about the latter, so I have started this thread.
We are here for the current Thai long weekend. Thursday was a national holiday - King Chulalongkorn Memorial Day - so we decided to visit. Khao Lak is 80 miles north of Phuket airport, nearly a 2 hour car trip. Taxi was 1800 THB. There has been heavy rain and flooding here. October is still rainy season in this area. Despite this, hotel is fully booked, likely due to current Thai government holiday tourism subsidy promotion. We are MB Platinum, but no upgrade available. We have "Garden View", not "Ocean View".

The resort is huge, with multiple swimming areas, including the beach, although a red flag is out for ocean swimming. Extensive breakfast offered. A 10 minute wait to be seated at 9 am. Our standard room is huge, 50 sqm with balcony. This would be a lovely location in high season, but also more expensive then of course.
