Last month I saw a one-night stay in Vegas that was about $250 USD that would have earned 10,000 points so 2,000 SQC. You'd have to fly AC at $500 CAD in Flex or higher (pre-tax) to get the same SQC earn.
Sure. But to apply my logic to your example, let's say AC sells points for 1 cent apiece, whether it's too Rocketmiles or Uber or whoever. So they're indifferent to Rocketmiles giving you a 29% yield (10,000 points x 1 cent per point ÷ C$350, assuming 1.40 FX rate) instead of Uber giving you a <1% yield (1 point per $ excluding taxes, fees, etc), because either way, AC is getting $100 for those 10K points.

The value proposition is way better for you - spend $10K on Uber vs US$250 on Rocketmiles to get those 10K points / 2K SQC - but the value to AC ($100) is the same either way.

I had never really looked at Rocketmiles, seems I may have missed some opportunities.
