Iberia creates a new booking on schedule changes?
I got an email a couple days ago that my flight time had changed and the new time would show on the app. But when I looked at the app, it showed the original flight time. Then, today, I saw that I no longer had seat assignments even though Iberia charged me for seat assignments a couple weeks ago. I called, and after several times being put on hold after reading numbers off the receipts, they said I did have my original seat assignments. The agent (who was very helpful) emailed me my itinerary and I noticed that it showed a different booking confirmation code than it used to. When I booked the ticket, I got a six-character code but the new one is only 5 characters. If I look at the booking using the original six-character code, it shows the original departure time and No Seats Selected. If I use the new one, it shows the updated departure and seat assignments.
Why does Iberia create an entirely new booking?
