Kept pressing and got transferred, same scenario and started trying to sell me on it, repeated and same, repeated and same. Finally I suggested CFF and was told, but that is a MC and your acct number would change. So?
My original Freedom card has not yet been converted. But I wanted the CFF because of its 3% on drug stores, and the fact that it is a Mastercard which is required to use AA's Simply Miles offers. I called Chase and asked to product-change my original Freedom to the Freedom Flex; was told that that was not an available option.
Someone recently told me that Chase no longer offers product changes from a Visa to a Mastercard.
Anyway, I went ahead and applied for the CFF, was instantly approved, and will get a 20,000-point SUB for my troubles. I'll promptly transfer those points to my CSP, where they will likely end up being transferred to Hyatt.
