Problems caused by long name in JMB account
For 8 years, I have been a JMB member, thanks to applying for a JAL associated credit card when I first became Japan resident.
At the time, I applied for the card with my name entered on the application form in katakana, no spaces.
In romaji (roman alphabet) my full name, with spaces, contains 24 characters. When I received my JAL Card with JMB membership, the katakana had been translated to be 23 characters. They left out the space between my surname and first name.
As a result, 8 years later, my corporate travel arranger cannot add my JMB number to my JAL bookings because there is a space missing versus my passport name.
