I've been trying to track down a solid answer to this (short of calling Qantas directly) but I have a handful of "General Lounge Invitation" through my Qantas status and various credit card deals. I want to send one for my son to use on his trip back to Sydney from Canada where he'll be in transit in Vancouver for 5+. hours. I've read that Qantas is now using the new Cathay Pacific lounge at YVR and Business Class passengers + Platinum members etc gain access but there's no clarity on whether these types of lounge invites can also work?

My suspicion is that these only work on Qantas' own lounges and not partner lounges but thought I'd ask here if anyone has any experience with this.
