I'd agree that's usually the case, but I also think it's a little unusual to set a new date if you already know for sure you won't be open by then.

I.E, today they changed the date from Oct 30 to Nov 14th... why wouldn't they just change it to December now?

Certainly doesn't help the customers if they have no intent to be open.
