In the end I went for BA as the fares were pretty low and it's a known quantity. But it took over an hour to book because I was trying to use a voucher and first of all the site crapped out at the final stage three times, then it decided to interpose a screen for selecting J and lost the voucher selection place. I went round and round in circles, complained, booked eventually with the app, and was called back with an offer of 10k avios for my trouble. With which I could have booked as a redemption but I was weary of battling the BA site by that point.

The previous day I'd had a great GGL line experience. I called up to move the return leg of my next summer flights to Malaysia out a few days to make some space for a trip to Bhutan, and it was all very straightforward. No issues at all with A class availabilty to KL. And then I was allowed to chop off the cancelled MAD-LHR leg of a MAD-LHR-SCL flight (booked ex Mad in J for an amazing price and guffed to F) because the flight was cancelled. I didn't think they'd go for that as there are plenty of MAD to LHR flights available, but it'll save schlepping over to Madrid to position. This is positioning for my trip to Antarctica. So very happy with the GGL team, and I'll miss being able to do this a lot.
