I had a very strange experience today that actually made me feel very uncomfortable so I terminated the call. I had called to request my free 20KG bag on an Aerspace booking I have. Firstly I was asked for my booking reference then my email address and telephone number . That is pretty normal and not an issue . Then I was placed on hold for 4 minutes and when the agent returned to the call they proceeded to ask for my Aerclub number , date of birth and mothers maiden name..
My only guess is that the PNR has one set of details and your AerClub account has rest and the agent made some kind of mistake thinking they needed to verify both sets to unlock the bag benefit.
Really strange. I can't remember if I ever had to give them a Mother's Maiden Name or other security question at any time, like for the two-factor authentication or anything like that. Anyone remember? I logged in to my AerClub account and there's no field there, but was it ever something we had to enter at some point for something? Most places ask for something else that you never ever see again, like that, or First Dog's Name or Place of Birth - you know the ones I mean. I've done so many of them for so many different companies I can't recall if it was sent over to EI.
