Revisited my North America to Asia searches this week and maybe a stronger USD but YYC-NRT-YYC on WS is now US$1964 RT on Westjet site but some OTAs are selling for US$1775. Also YVR-YYC-NRT and vv is as low as US$1976 on a single ticket. I have not yet tried to end on end with something like LAX-YYC but that typically is allowed with WS business fares so could be the cheap way to get mostly flatbed to Asia from the southern part of the west coast.

Other ex-Canada fares seem to be moderating a bit, there is a PR fare that seems to be as low as US$2800 RT YVR-MNL-SEL and vv on some OTAs. And the fare routing table shows YVR-LAX (on AC in eco)-MNL-SEL and vv as an option so well, I guess you would only have to position to YVR on the front end.

Returning to Canada- Other than the WS which can be a oneway, there is a one way JL fare ICN-TYO-YVR for US$1460, havent fully explored but seems like this one can take any JL or AA flight across the pacific, so may also help for the way home if you are US based. MPM is 6105 so maybe just Seattle without jacking up the price.
