Also, you say "YVR", but I assume you mean "YVR dom". International lounges have different standards, and I'm not sure if YVR TB has a full hot kitchen, which, if my memory is correct, obviously limits what they can do.
Given the general inconsistency across the MLL network I expect that you are correct. I believe there is a 'Manager' responsible for each MLL which results in that lack of consistency and why some are markedly better than others. Another AC YMMV situation.
