I actually liked my stay at The Standard - at least per my relatively low standards for Singapore. Here are my impressions and photos:

Pros:

• Bed was comfortable - medium slightly plush foam mattress, plush pillows, covers of good plushness for climate
• Shower pressure was strong and good
• Offered late checkout proactively
• Useful seating area
• Breakfast was quite good - really enjoyed the à la carte dishes - especially the chicken and waffles

Neutral:

• Room needs more drawers - could have added under bed like the safe drawer
• Location could be closer to public transport

Cons:

• Unclear on upgrades - don’t think I was upgraded - based on earlier reports, they don’t seem keen - I didn’t ask
• No obvious gym

I would pick this over the Andaz, which I didn’t like.
