Correct. They don’t know the price you paid if the other airline ticketed it.
it may be easier for AS to run earning in entire 2026 using current system and announce (in january, before schedule for 2027 opens for booking) specifics of the whole new distance/price etc options and changes to start in 2027 earning year..
sorting out posting for already booked trips in 2026 can become an incredible mess tying up resources... just keep it clean like CX
