AS just following the AA playbook of retreating from competition. SFO had a brief glorious period with lots of AS routes after they got virgin but that’s all gutted now. Sad.
It’s probably more along the lines of flying where they make money. Like all airlines, some routes are more lucrative than others. Losing money just to say they’re flying that route? Not the AS way and any business, especially a carrier, that operates that way, doesn’t last long…as we all remember.
