It is really bad. Once you fly some other airlines the excuse that it is an airline doesn't work anymore. I had an amazing meal the other day on an 1.5 hr. flight on Turkish from IST to BUD in F on an A321. It was amazing comapred to any Polaris meal I have had. It is really awful how bad the food and service has gotten on United. My premium economy meal last week from Vienna to IAD was better than United as well. Using the airline excuse doesn't work as other airlines are producing much better quality airline food.
I was also on a flight where the FAs refused to serve a Polaris meal to my friend who upgraded by cash a few hours before the flight departed. They had to eat the coach food. It was bad in Polaris!
Agree. It's a systemic/institutional issue with UA - I've had the same FROZEN salad many times on IAH-EU routes (typically MUC), among other culinary issues. That's not personal preferences but outright inedible (unless you and i have different definitions of edible).
FA in Polaris IAH-FRA a few months ago told me she packed her own food, rather than eat Polaris meals.
