WARNING Egyptian call centre be on your guard
I had a very strange experience today that actually made me feel very uncomfortable so I terminated the call. I had called to request my free 20KG bag on an Aerspace booking I have. Firstly I was asked for my booking reference then my email address and telephone number . That is pretty normal and not an issue . Then I was placed on hold for 4 minutes and when the agent returned to the call they proceeded to ask for my Aerclub number , date of birth and mothers maiden name.
I actually felt uncomfortable with being asked so many questions and asked to speak to a supervisor and was refused. I then asked them to clarify what call center they were in and they refused to state this also. I knew by the accent it was the Egyptian one. Last week a friend of mine also had a very bad experience with them and had grave concerns about the handling of personal data.
Im going to raise a formal complaint about this incident but just be pre warned if it doesn't sound right or you like me feel uncomfortable with the amount of information being requested just terminate the call. Never have I been asked to give out double the amount of validation questions.
