I would at least check air fare LHR to MAN. Sometimes that can be quite reasonable and it saves the time and effort of getting across London. Also personally I would either cut out MAN and just go to Scotland or cut out Scotland and just do Yorkshire/Cheshire/Lancashire, maybe including North Wales depending on your interests. Either region can fully occupy the time you have available
This might be your best bet if you are not interested in spending time in London. Getting from LHR to Euston station can be a pain in the bum especially if you have luggage.
If you specifically want to spend time in London and then travel by train Hilton Euston is a good option.
